Monday 28 April 2025, 7.00PM to 9.00pm
Speaker(s): Simone Chisena BA MSc AFHEA
It might happen that some images crop up in our minds, when hearing the words ‘prehistoric art’: Lascaux horses, Altamira’s bisons, the well-rounded female figurines... yet the remote days of our most ancient past have left us significantly more numerous traces of their imagery and artistic skill. In this course, we will travel across the millennia from the first appearance of hominins in Europe to the dawn of historical times, to explore when art was born and what forms it took among our very first ancestors.
