This course is an introduction to the philosophy of Stoicism. Attendees will be introduced to the theories of the key Stoic thinkers - Zeno of Citium, Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius - as well as to the ideas of some contemporary Stoic philosophers. We will explore the Stoics' emphasis on reason, virtue, and resilience in the face of adversity, as well as their ideas about ethics, emotions, and personal development.
