Saturday 18 November 2023, 2.00PM to 5.00pm
Speaker(s): Martin Potter PhD

TS Eliot’s most famous poem is challenging for the first-time reader, mysterious and full of allusions. In this single-sitting course there will be the opportunity to achieve an overview of the whole poem, discuss the role of the sections, and focus on selected passages for close reading – as well as considering the poem’s place in the wider culture of its time, especially in the ‘modernist’ literary movement.
