The Paintings of Piero della Francesca second cohort

This course will provide an introduction to the work of the Italian Renaissance artist Piero della Francesca. Piero is nowadays admired for the serenity, geometry and balance of his art, but we will also place his works back into their historical contexts, considering the social, religious and political forces of patronage and purpose that helped shape them.
