Saturday 19 November 2022, 10.00AM to 4:30pm
Speaker(s): Daniel Gustafsson PhD
This one-day course will allow us to immerse ourselves in the poetry, art and thought of one of England’s most enduringly original figures, William Blake (1757-1827). We will follow Blake’s development from the famous lyrics of the Songs of Innocence and Experience to the epic illuminated book of Jerusalem: The Emanation of the Giant Albion. Prescient about future crises – of culture, environment, and faith – Blake’s work can speak with great urgency to us in the twenty-first century.
