England in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries was a place undergoing phenomenal change from a medieval world to one we would increasingly recognise today. This course will look at English society and the experience of its people in this time. It will consider high politics, religion, belief, economic change, trade, popular culture and more, as well as take a look at the sources available and offer advice on finding and reading documents.
