Not Just the Booker: Reading Contemporary Fiction

Monday 24 January 2022, 7.00PM to 9.00pm

Speaker(s): Georgia Walton BA MLitt

The Booker Prize is the most acclaimed literary award in the UK. But does the winner represent the best title of the year? We will read, discuss and judge for ourselves the winners of six literary prizes and one of the best-selling fiction titles of 2021 to answer this question. The only necessary qualification is a willingness to read and discuss the seven books. We focus on novels, but in recent years this course has included the odd poetry or non-fiction title, too.
