A Day with William Blake

Saturday 11 December 2021, 10.00AM to 1.00pm

Speaker(s): Maddy Potter PhD

William Blake remains one of the most popular British poets. From his rich lyricism, to his intricate mythopoeia in the prophetic books, his works fascinate both readers and later poets, who invariably find themselves influenced by him. His Jerusalem is perhaps one of the best-known hymns, and it has also been used as a national anthem for England. This class delves into and contextualises some of Blake’s famous poems, while also introducing some of his less well-known work.
