Introduction to Heritage Conservation

This course is a short introduction to the field of heritage conservation. With the help of case studies from around the world, it will consider the ethics, philosophy, history and theory of conservation in a range of different contexts. It will study what motivates society and individuals to conserve cultural heritage, while analysing the threats to cultural heritage buildings and how conservation professionals work to overcome them.
