Speaker(s): Cristina Figueredo BA MA PhD
After centuries of fighting in the east, the western Church and secular rulers focused on crusades closer to home. Consequently, in Spain, the ‘Reconquista’ was re-ignited and in France, the Albigensian Crusade was launched against the Cathars. This course aims to study the crusades fought on Western European soil, considering historical documents and visual evidence in order to analyse the development of major events during this period, and their outcomes.
This course will be delivered via Zoom. Students joining the course will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone (essential) and a webcam (desirable) as well as a reliable broadband connection.
