Shining armour to wear, terrifying monsters to battle and distressed damsels to rescue – wasn’t that just a normal workday for a knight? This course will examine what it really meant to be a knight in the medieval period. It will cover topics such as Arthurian legends, tournaments, and displays of magnificence. Together we will encounter the Age of Chivalry through a wide range of art objects and literary extracts from epic romances.
