Hoaxes and Headlines: A History of Fake News

The phrase 'fake news' has become an increasingly common cry recently, but false reporting isn’t new. This course uses a selection of historic examples to look at how news stories have been spread through the ages, how and why hoaxes happen, as well as considering the recent rise of fake news and what we might be able to do about it.
