The Rise of the Normans: Normandy and England

The Normans played a major role in Medieval European history. Famous for their martial spirit, they conquered lands on both sides of the Channel. By analysing medieval chronicles and visual arts, this course aims to study the development of these remarkable people from their Viking origins to their establishment as kings of England.
