Saturday 15 May 2021, 10.00AM to 1.00pm

Speaker(s): Cristina Figueredo BA MA PhD

From its beginnings as a persecuted sect, Christianity rose to become the sole religion of the Roman Empire. It was later accepted and embraced by all the Germanic tribes who took control of Western Europe. This course will explore the history of the Early Church from the Edict of Milan, which declared Christianity a legal religion of the Empire, to the great missionary expeditions to the Angli, in the late 6th century.
