Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms: The Greatness of Alfred of Wessex

After the death of Offa of Mercia, the Kings of Wessex rose to power. Eventually, they will be crowned Kings of All England. This course will study the Wessex supremacy in the 9th century. By analysing documentary and archaeological evidence, the course will explore the military and cultural achievements of King Alfred the Great and his court.
