Speaker(s): Gillian Waters
The module is divided into three main themes: how approaches to the local history of Yorkshire have changed over time, the primary and secondary sources available to local historians, and how to reconstruct a history of a locality. The module will explore the physical, visual, written and oral sources available to local historians from the twentieth century to the medieval period and explore the major themes of modern local history. It will also consider how to connect a local history within the wider contexts of regional and national historical developments, and how to create an engaging and informative history of a locality.
