This informal and enjoyable day course explores the emergence of the selfie phenomenon by examining its historical roots in film, painting, and photography. Through a mix of short introductory lectures and open facilitated discussion, you will investigate why it has become so widespread today and what that might say about our society. This course is for anyone with an interest in art, culture, history or sociology.
This course will be delivered via Zoom. Students joining our online courses would need access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone (essential) and a webcam (desirable) as well as a reliable broadband connection.
