The House of Borgia rose to prominence at the time of the Renaissance. Originally from Spain, the family became involved in both political and religious affairs, producing two popes. This course will explore the lives and (bad) reputation of Calixtus III and Alexander VI, focusing on contemporary records and historical accounts.
