Cordoba, Seville and Granada: A Short history of Islamic Art and Architecture in Spain

The artistic production of Spain in the centuries of the Islamic domination (711-1492) will be the focus of this one-day course. Cordoba with its remarkable Mosque, Seville with the artistic influences from North Africa and Granada with the unsurpassed beauty of the Alhambra palace will be the main themes, but some time will also be dedicated to the art of the Mudéjares, the Muslim artists and artisans who chose to remain in Spain after the Reconquista by the Catholic Kings.
