Interested in the Bronze Age? Want to know more about the first great civilisations in Europe characterised by complex society and urban development? Curious about the early days and the later development of archaeological theory and practice? Then this course is for you. During this intriguing and stimulating course we will look at different aspects of the three main Aegean Bronze Age civilisations: the Cycladic, the Minoan, and the Mycenean, focusing on the art, the material culture, the burial customs, and the connections between them as well as with other significant places in the Mediterranean. Short presentations and discussion on each topic will help you delve into the Aegean Bronze Age world.
