The English Reformation in Ten Books

Monday 28 September 2020, 7.00PM to 9:00PM

The Reformation in England is often associated with Henry VIII’s Break with Rome in 1534, but the history of England’s split from Catholicism and the establishment of the Church of England is longer and messier than originally thought. This course will trace 150 years of English religion in a selection of the literary, theological and liturgical texts that shaped it, from the first printed Bible in English to Milton’s epic masterpiece Paradise Lost.
