People’s Votes? Political Engagement from Elections to Demonstrations

People participate in politics in many ways, from voting in elections and referenda, to signing petitions, demonstrating, or commenting in online discussions. This course looks at how political participation has changed over time, and how it varies around the world. Discussion will include the impact of the internet, and the extent to which representatives should take voters’ preferences into account.
