Introduction to Geology

Geology is the science concerned with the Earth’s structure, its components and all the processes that govern it. Through the observation of rock types, their structure, and by analysing their chemical composition we can gain a better understanding of the actual landscapes and how things happened in the past. This course will cover topics such as the Earth’s structure, basic concepts of geology, principle type of rocks, and plate tectonics. Previous geology knowledge is not required.
