The Old Testament in Art

Drawing widely upon the books of the Old Testament, this course will explore ways in which the visual arts can help us to understand some of the theological questions presented by these texts. From the Creation to the Fall, meeting prophets, priests, kings and some formidable women on the way, we will consider the many different ways artists across the centuries have responded to and interpreted the people, places and events of the Old Testament, often challenging our understanding.
