Poems for a Winter Evening

Saturday 30 November 2019, 10.00AM to 4.30pm

As the dark nights set in, there is nothing more comforting than a good book, particularly good poetry. This course draws together verse that offers warmth in sentiments, beauty in imagery, and hope in its philosophy to keep cold winter thoughts at bay. We will consider poetry both ancient and modern and explore how uplifting words take the chill out of dark nights and dark thoughts. A reminder that, 'If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?'
