Medieval Merchants

Saturday 25 January 2020, 10.00AM to 4.30pm

This course will examine medieval merchants in England, particularly those who made their living trading in wool and cloth. Forging complex business deals, often involving overseas trade, these merchants balanced opportunity and risk to make their fortunes. Using extracts from original documents, we will look at their backgrounds, their careers, and even how they chose to be remembered after their deaths. It is anticipated that this course will be held at the King’s Manor.
