The Viking Age

The Vikings have a reputation as bloodthirsty seafaring warriors, who plundered Britain and other North Atlantic countries in the early Middle Ages. However, they have also been traders, farmers, poets, artists, and settlers. This course will explore Viking history, society and culture through the study of contemporary documents and the latest archaeological finds in Britain and Scandinavia.
