Writing the Folk: Inspiration from Folklore, Folk Tales and Folk Song

Tuesday 1 October 2019, 7.00PM to 9.00pm

Folklore, folk tales and folk song influence many writers including Neil Gaiman, Sarah Perry and Andrew Greig but how can we use them in our own work? In this course we will undertake a variety of creative exercises to inspire new ways of using these old tales in poetry and prose. Suitable for writers of all levels. Alexandra writes under the pen name Alys West. Her first novel, Beltane, draws on the folklore and folk tales of Glastonbury.
