Ethics: An Introduction to Moral Philosophy

Monday 13 January 2020, 7.00PM to 9.00pm

On what basis do we judge something to be good or evil? This module will look at the various ways this question has been answered in the history of philosophy from the Ancient Greeks to the present day. Issues to be addressed will include whether morality is founded on emotions (like sympathy) or whether it has to be dispassionate, and whether an action should be judged by its consequences or the intentions behind it.
