The Magnificent Century: The Ottoman Empire Under Suleiman I

The longest reigning sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Suleiman, extended his dominions from the Balkans to the Persian Gulf, from the Red Sea to Algiers. Under him, the empire reached its highest political, cultural and economic point. A highly cultured and well-educated man, he was a keen supporter of the arts and architecture. This module will explore the life and times of Suleiman against the backdrop of the Ottoman Empire in the Early Modern world.
