Resistance, Revolution and Empowerment: The Girls' Boarding School Story 1900-1950

Thursday 8 August 2019, 9.30AM to 12.30pm

The girls' boarding school story is a genre full of revolution and empowerment; in celebrating girls, rather than suffering them, it offered a sense of freedom before the conventionalities of adulthood.  Using the work of Angela Brazil, Elinor M. Brent-Dyer, and Enid Blyton, this course will explore how that happened.
