Northern Irish Poetry

Monday 1 October 2018, 7.00PM to 9.00pm

Enrol and pay online

Northern Irish poets have been among the best-known in the British Isles in the last hundred years. Beginning with early twentieth-century figures such as John Hewitt and WR Rodgers, and moving through the famous Ulster Renaissance, which included Seamus Heaney and Michael Longley, and onto contemporary figures such as Sinead Morrissey and Leontia Flynn, this course will consider the place of Northern Irish poetry, its relationship to the province’s complex history, and to wider literary and political movements.
