Along the intertwining routes that formed the Silk Road, tireless merchants with their packed animals have travelled and exchanged precious goods for centuries. The Silk Road has also witnessed the blossoming of ideas and the development of new cultures. In this one-day course, we will travel along the Silk Route and look at the most remarkable buildings and artworks left by the Islamic dynasties in Samarqand, Bukhara and Khiva.
