Liz Prettejohn guests on BBC Radio 4

Posted on 19 November 2014

Head of Department Liz Prettejohn took part in a discussion on the Philosophy of Good Taste on BBC Radio 4 this week.

As an aid to exploring 18th century Scottish philosopher David Hume's theory that the appreciation of beauty is not a simple thing, requiring dedication, knowledge, and expertise, host Barry Smith speaks to Liz about the appreciation of art, talks to Neuroscientist Semir Zeki and also recounts a wine themed story from Don Quixote.

This programme is part of a week of programmes looking at the history of ideas around Freedom.
