It is the third in a series of library displays resulting from the Displaying Victorian Sculpture research project. At the height of his career, the sculptor Richard Westmacott, R. A. was at the centre of sculptural education and exhibition in Britain. This display examines scrapbooks, notes and contemporary prints relating to Westmacott, as vehicles for studying and passing on principles of sculpture.
You can read full details here. The display is on until December 22nd 2013.
Earlier in the year York PhD candidate Beki Senior organised the display at the Henry Moore Institute Library, showcasing her research into Edward Onslow Ford’s memorial to Percy Shelley.
