Saturday 3 December 2011, 5.30PM to 8.00pm

Speaker(s): Prof. Mark Hallett, Dr Tim Ayers, Dr Jeanne Nuechterlein, and Susanna Frater

This MA information event offers prospective students the opportunity to find out about the York MA programme in a relaxed atmosphere. You can ask questions about the course, the application process, and funding opportunities, which will include a number of AHRC awards and departmental scholarships. The information session will be followed by a drinks reception and private view of the William Etty: Art and Controversy exhibition at York Art Gallery.

Starting at 17:30, the session will commence with a few words of welcome from Head of Department, Professor Mark Hallett. Dr Tim Ayers, Graduate Chair, will then provide some information on the programme structure and content. This will be followed by mini-lectures from Dr Ayers, and Dr Jeanne Nuechterlein. Finally, Susanna Frater, will give a brief talk about the application process and funding opportunities. Finishing at around 18:15, this information session will be followed by the drinks reception and private view at York Art Gallery, giving prospective students the opportunity to talk to staff and current and former MA and PhD students informally.
