Erasmus

If you are studying on one of our four year programmes you will spend the whole of your second year at a top university in another European country, enabling you to immerse yourself completely in another culture, language, and of course the art and architecture.

Through the Erasmus scheme, a programme designed to promote study abroad within the European Union, you can study at one of our partner institutions:

Le Tour Eiffel, Paris
University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne

During your year away, you will remain registered at York and do not need to pay tuition fees at the host institution.  Our Erasmus scheme co-ordinator, Prof Helen Hills, is there to support and guide you through the process.

Read more about the students featured in the video who, like York Art Historians, had the opportunity to spend a year abroad immersing themselves in a different language and culture.

Other opportunities for studying abroad

You don't have to be following a four year programme to spend time studying abroad. The Centre for Global Programmes is the first stop for information about programmes organised by the University, rather than the Department.  They offer a wide range of options offering opportunities in the USA, Canada, Australia and Asia, as well as a range of summer programmes.
