Tahsin Tasneem Tabassum is a medical doctor with a Master’s in Public Health currently undertaking a PhD focused on the use of digital health technologies to support smoking cessation among people with Severe Mental Illness in South Asia.
Tahsin also works with the UPTURN team at the York Trials Unit on a project aimed at serving the underserved populations.
Tahsin's research interests are mental public health with a particular focus on Severe Mental Illness and underserved populations. Tahsin is especially interested in addressing health risk behaviours such as smoking and obesity and exploring how targeted, equitable interventions can reduce health inequalities in these groups. Tahsin is also interested in the application of digital tools to modify risk behaviours and improve care.
