Biography
Jess graduated in Medicine from the University of Dundee in 2008. She then completed Foundation Training in Liverpool before moving to Paediatric Training in Yorkshire. She has now taken three years out of medical training to complete her PhD, with an aim to work in Paediatric Haematology/Oncology in the future. Her PhD is looking at various aspects of safely shortening the duration of hospitalisation in children and young people with febrile neutropenia. She is performing a number of systematic reviews, which will be followed by qualitative research into the views of early discharge of patients, families and healthcare professionals.

Jess is interested in supportive care for children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer, as well as reductions in hospital stay for all children where this is appropriate.
