Biography
Habiba has recently been appointed as a Research Assistant for a DIAMONDS programme Urdu to improve outcomes in diabetes and associated mental health issues. In this role, Habiba is tasked with supporting participant recruitment, conducting both qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and ensuring intervention fidelity.
Habiba's career over the past three years has progressed from an Assistant Psychologist to a Senior PBS Practitioner and Deputy MDT Lead, demonstrating significant growth in managing mental health issues and psychological interventions.

Research
Overview
Habiba is interested in exploring the psychological and social factors that influence behaviour and well-being. Her work includes studying the impact of ostracism on suicidal behaviour and risk of relapse in substance use disorders. Additionally, Habiba has researched psycho-trauma, perceived social support, and coping strategies among university students. Another key area of interest is the role of mindful eating in the relationship between food cravings, emotional eating, and mood regulation. Through her research, Habiba aims to contribute to the development of effective mental health interventions and support systems.

DIAMONDS programme funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. This project aims to improve outcomes and services for individuals with diabetes who also experience mental illness. This work is part of an extension called DIAMONDS URDU, focusing on reaching South Asian communities to better understand and address their specific needs.
