Wounds research for patient benefit programme

Posted on 26 February 2010

Making the care of people with complex, chronic wounds as good as it can be. In collaboration with the Leeds Tissue Viability Service.

Funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Research for Patient Benefit Programme over five years and in collaboration with the Leeds Tissue Viability Service.

The research aims to make the care of people with complex, chronic wounds (e.g. leg and foot ulcers and pressure ulcers) as good as it can be by:

  • learning much more about the people affected
  • finding out which treatments are most effective
  • listening and documenting patients', carers' and staff perspective on features of high quality services and treatments
