By a Lady: Women and Natural History in the Americas, 1650-1830

Lilian Tabois, English & CECS PhD student, has an online exhibition of her recent WRoCAH placement at the John Carter Brown Library

Lilian's research explores the rich variety of ways in which European women contributed to the creation and dissemination of botanical and zoological knowledge of the Americas. You can read the full online exhibition on the John Carter Brown Library website. 

Lilian is completing a PhD at York on the topic of British Women's Travel Writing to Latin America and Historiography, 1820-1850, supervised by Dr Emma Major.
