BERA conference 2015

Eight York academics and research students will represent the Department at the British Educational Research Association conference in Belfast from 15 to 17 September.

York speakers and presentations will include:

  • Chelsea Swift – Negotiating Contexts for Reading: Becoming ‘Someone Who Reads’
  • Laura Louise Nicklin – From Lockdown to Curtain Up: Exploring Arts Education as a medium for Juvenile Criminal Rehabilitation
  • Haiwei Zhang – The influences of first acquired script on the process of hanzi handwriting among English and Arabic speakers
  • Ioanna Katsikopoulou – Finding one’s place in society: Exploring the relation between vocational educaton and social cohesion in Greece and England
  • Manuel Lopez-Pereyra – Sex and Relationship Education vs. Inclusive Education? Addressing homoparental families in primary schools  
  • Ghazal Syed – Identifying citizenship themes in literary texts.
