Is postgraduate education accessible by all?

Dr Paul Wakeling looks at advantages of postgraduate study and potential barriers to access in a piece published on the Conversation website.

Dr Wakeling discusses why postgraduate study is important for economic competitiveness, the nature of 21st century knowledge, and equity and social justice. 

Dr Wakeling is currently engaged by the Economic and Social Research Council and the Higher Education Funding Council for England to analyse and evaluate outcomes from the Postgraduate Support Scheme programme. He is also working on a project funded as part of the scheme which involves University of York and five other universities.
