Appointment to the Salters' Chair in Science Education

The University is delighted to announce that Professor Judith Bennett, current Head of Department of Education and leading academic in science education, has been appointed to the Salters' Chair in Science Education.

She will take up the position in October 2014. The Chair is jointly funded by the Salters’ Institute and the University of York.

The Salters' Chair makes a major contribution to the further development of curriculum innovation and research and leads the Centre for Innovation and Research in Science Education (CIRSE) within the wider Science Education Group at York.

Judith has played a leading role nationally and internationally in shaping science education research and has a range of exciting ideas that she will be pursuing when she takes up the Chair next October.
