Education Committee visits York to examine how to attract, train and retain the best teachers.

Paula Mountford, Director of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) at York, gives interview on the day the Government Education Select Committee visits York.

As part of their visit to York on Monday 5 March, the Education Select Committee visited two schools and met with a range of local teachers and trainees before taking formal evidence from local head teachers and training specialists about how to attract, train and retain the best teachers in UK schools.

Paula Mountford, Director of ITT at the University of York, and Hannah Strickland, a History Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) trainee, spoke to Adam Tomlinson on Radio York about teaching and the PGCE course at York.
