ESRC PhD Scholarship in Education awarded to Rowena Hanan

The Department's first PhD Scholarship as part of the new Economic and Social Research Council's White Rose Doctoral Training Centre has been awarded to Rowena Hanan (Language & Linguistic Science and Education)

The Department's first PhD Scholarship as part of the new Economic and Social Research Council's White Rose Doctoral Training Centre has been awarded to Rowena Hanan. The award is a fully-funded 3-year scholarship covering maintenance and fees, starting from Autumn 2011. Rowena graduated from the University of York (Language & Linguistic Science and Education) in 2010, and is currently on the MA in Language Learning and Education programme.  Her PhD will investigate 'The role of explicit knowledge about language in learning a foreign language at primary school'.
