Posted on 19 March 2013

The Conference will showcase the innovative and interdisciplinary work so far funded by the Centre

C2D2 will hold its first Conference on 25-26 September (2013) in the University's Ron Cooke Hub on Heslington East. The event will showcase the innovative and interdisciplinary work across the sciences, social sciences and arts and humanities that has so far been funded by the Centre through the generous support of the University and the Wellcome Trust.

The Conference will be organised by two key themes: chronic infections, and mental and neurological disorders. There will be a variety of papers and discussions, and an accompanying poster exhibition as well as other activities. Two keynote talks by invited external academics who are exemplars of interdisciplinary working will open and close the Conference.

The Conference is also intended to further raise awareness across departments of cross-cutting themes in the key research area of chronic diseases and disorders and to provide an opportunity to seek out new collaborators. The event will commence at lunchtime on the 25th and continue through to lunchtime on the 26th but with the opportunity to stay on to take part in informal discussions in the afternoon.

The Conference programme will be available in due course at which point it will also be possible to register.
