C2D2 makes final six priming awards

Over £60,000 is given out to support exciting new projects across six departments

The C2D2 Steering Committee met just before Christmas to review fourteen applications for funding requesting a total of £181,000. Of these the following six were awarded:

Sean Sweeney Functional linking of passive and responsive anti-oxidant responses underpinning Parkinson’s Disease caused by GTPCH1 mutations
Nia Bryant Translational tools to aid diagnosis and treatment of Type-2 Diabetes: Development of cell-based platforms to dissect insulin-signaling pathways
Jeremy Mottram A multi-mode high performance microplate reader for biochemical and cell based assays
Dimitris Lagos A novel molecular orchestrator of wound healing
Miles Whittington ‘The Dark Self’ an exhibition combining art and science to promote awareness of Sleep Health to the general public
