Profile

Biography

Lisa is an experienced academic with over 17 years in the field of Business and Management within undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA and international programmes across the globe.  Lisa has teaching expertise in Human Resource Development, Leadership and Management, Organisational Behaviour, Training and Induction, Human Resource management, Business Strategy as well as Dissertation and Project Supervision.

Lisa is currently studying for a PhD in Mental Health and possesses a Masters in Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD) as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Research Training, Certificate in Education and a Post Graduate Diploma in HRMD.  

Lisa has demonstrated a commitment to developing professional capacity and capability being a member of several professional bodies including Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Fellow of The Institute for Leadership and Management, Chartered Fellow of Management Institute and Fellow of The Society for Education and Training (formerly IfL), as well as being a Certified Management and Business Educator.

Lisa also holds three external examiner positions at University of Wolverhampton, University of East Anglia and University of Brighton covering MSc and BSc HRM/Management courses and MSc Responsible Enterprise and Innovation respectively. Furthermore, Lisa possesses over 10 years practitioner knowledge and leadership experience obtained as a Training Manager within financial and business service industries, including BT plc, Toyota GB and Halifax UK Bank, prior to her academic career.

Overview

Lisa is interested in supervising and collaborating on research projects in:

Primary topics:

Mental health and wellbeing and the use of nature-based solutions to help with emotional trauma and anxiety.

Social theory and its influence and effect on learning transfer, social learning and workplace learning along with the effects of socialisation on knowledge transfer. 

Management learning and development and the use of continuing professional development as a strategic HRD intervention.

Additional topics: Leadership and Management, Global Talent Management and Cross-Cultural differences, Training, Induction and Socialisation, Organisational behaviour and excellence.
